Monoprinting is a type of printmaking where the intent is to make unique - one-of-a-kind pieces. This means that while traditionally a print would be in an edition of multiples - each print being the same, the monoprint is exactly "one print" it cannot be reproduced.

Monoprint is known as the most painterly method of printmaking techniques. The beauty of this medium is its spontaneity and its combination of traditional printmaking with painting, collage, and drawing media.

In my work I do 1-2 prints from a matrix, in this case a screen print, which then are transformed through the addition of value/color/texture using acrylic paint, drawing materials and water-based inks. I consider the outcome a multi-layered print/making.
