Brian Lanker (1947-2011) 1947-2011

Brian Lanker (1947-2011) was a Pulitzer Prize-winning photojournalist and documentary film director, perhaps best-known for international exhibition of portraits titled I Dream a World: Portraits of Black Women Who Changes America and the book Shall We Dance. Lanker's photographs frequently appeared in LIFE, National Geographic, and Sports Illustrated magazines as well as many international publications.

Note: Karin Clarke Gallery has a limited number of framed Brian Lanker framed photographs that were printed by Clarkson Creative in Denver (one the Lanker's mentors, who he worked for in Topeka where he won the Pulitzer). These exact pieces were exhibited at the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art January 23, 2016 - April 24, 2016 in his retrospective exhibit: "From the Heart: The Photographs of Brian Lanker.
