Some plants and animals have such a special bond, they cannot exist without one another. The only way I can describe this relationship is to compare it to the nurturing connection between a mother and a child. The leaves of the Milkweed plant are like mother's milk to the Monarch butterfly's caterpillars - it is all they can eat. Then, adult Monarch butterflies also drink the nectar of milkweed. I found this deep connection quite touching to contemplate.
