1998 Article by Bob Keefer Craig Spilman retired in 2002 from Lane Community College, where he taught drawing, painting and printmaking for over 30 years. Prior to that, he was an instructor at Maude Kerns Art Center, and at he has shown extensively throughout Oregon, and in several international exhibits. Spilman is best known for his skillfully rendered monochromatic drawings and monoprints of the Willamette Valley. His work is full of energy, texture, and rhythm, and appears luminous, even in its seemingly simple subject matter. |
