WILLAMETTE DREAMS
A collaboration between Karin Clarke Gallery and Art Counselor Inc.
January 10 – February 29, 2012
Artist Reception, Friday, February 3, 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.
The beautiful Willamette Valley, cradled by the Coburg
Hills in the east and the Coast Range in the west, is celebrated in the current
exhibit at the Art Annex. The valley’s
bright green spring grass under glowering grey clouds, oranges and golds of
autumn trees, and bare branches silhouetted against the fog and rain, have
proven to be an irresistible subject for local artists.
Willamette Dreams includes work by seven local artists, familiar to visitors of the Art Annex: Jill Atkin, Chris Bechler, Mark Clarke, Margaret Coe, Bets Cole, Kris Hurwit, and Lynn Ihsen Peterson. Working in oils, acrylics, watercolors, or pastels, these artists convey their intimate relationship to the landscape in which they work.
An Artist Reception will be held during the First Friday Art Walk, February 3, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. The artists will be available to discuss their work.
